Product Description:High-quality fetal bovine serum (FBS) is derived from cattle raised on high-quality New Zealand pastures. Blood is collected via cardiac puncture of unborn bovine fetuses, followed by centrifugation and three 0.1-μm filtration steps. It is then subjected to comprehensive quality testing, including BVDV (Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus) and a series of viral tests, as well as mycoplasma screening, endotoxin detection, performance evaluation, and biochemical analysis. This grade of serum contains the growth factors necessary for embryonic development and has low immunoglobulin levels.High-quality fetal bovine serum undergoes heating steps to inactivate complement. The reactions involving complement include: cell lysis activity, smooth muscle contraction, histamine release from mast cells and platelets, enhanced phagocytosis, and chemotaxis and activation of lymphocytes and macrophages.
