Samples are reconstituted to a 1× working concentration and sterilized by membrane filtration. Testing may include endotoxin level, solubility, osmolality, and pH.
The values for these parameters are determined using the test conditions described for Classic Powdered Basal Media. This medium is formulated without sodium bicarbonate to enhance stability.
