Calcium chloride solution (CaCl₂) is a commonly used biochemical reagent that plays a role in maintaining the stability of cell membranes and cell walls, as well as mediating signal transduction in biological processes. It is often used as an additive in serum-free cell culture media to adjust the concentration of calcium ions (Ca²⁺) and participate in physiological processes such as signal transduction, cell adhesion, and differentiation. For certain Ca²⁺-sensitive cells, such as normal human epidermal keratinocytes (NHEK), the optimal calcium ion concentration can be adjusted according to actual needs.
