Tris-Acetate-EDTA Buffer (TAE Buffer) is one of the most common nucleic acid electrophoresis buffers. It consists of Tris, acetate and EDTA, and is widely used in agarose gel electrophoresis, especially for DNA agarose gel electrophoresis.
TAE features low ionic strength and buffer capacity, making it suitable for short-term electrophoresis runs (approximately 30 minutes). When high resolution is required, TAE helps improve the resolution of large molecular weight nucleic acids. It is ideal for the electrophoretic analysis of large DNA fragments and can also be used for DNA fragment recovery.
WISENT provides 10× and 50× TAE Buffer. Customers may dilute the concentrate according to experimental requirements before use.
