Tris-EDTA Buffer (TE) is a common buffer in molecular biology. It consists of Tris and EDTA. It is mainly used to dissolve, dilute and process solutions containing DNA or RNA. It can also stabilize and preserve DNA and RNA.
Tris:  It provides a weakly alkaline environment, which helps maintain nucleic acid stability.
EDTA:  As a chelating agent, it binds divalent metal ions in solution, thereby inhibiting nuclease activity and protecting DNA and RNA from degradation.
WISENT offers TE Buffer formulated with 10 mM Tris and 1 mM EDTA disodium salt, pH 8.0, for general molecular biology applications.
