Product Description:NEUROCELL is a basal medium specifically designed for neuronal cells of the central nervous system. The basal medium requires supplementation with W21 or N2 supplement. Our W21 supplement has demonstrated superior viability and stability compared with other supplements for the long-term maintenance of neuronal cells. NEUROCELL medium can be used without an astrocyte feeder layer. It is capable of cultivating homogeneous neuronal populations from the hippocampus, cortex, and other brain regions and contains advanced antioxidant components.

Prepare Medium:
1. Using W21(50x) supplement
To 500mL NEUROCELL medium add 10mL W21 supplement. Supplement with L-glutamine. (0.5-1mM).
2. Using N2(100x) supplement
To 500mL NEUROCELL media add 5mL N2 supplement. Supplement with L- glutamine. (1-2mM).
3. Stable for one week at 2-8°C once supplement.
Note:
1. For initial plating of primary neurons further supplement with 3.7 μg/mL glutamic acid. Some cell lines require initial attachment in complete NEUROCELL with 1-2% FBS.
2. The long-term survival of hippocampus derived neurons is improved by addition of 25 μM 2-mercaptoethanol.
