Product Description:Tris-Borate-EDTA Buffer (TBE) is one of the most common DNA electrophoresis buffers. It consists of Tris, borate and EDTA, and is widely used in PAGE and agarose gel electrophoresis.TBE buffer features relatively high ionic strength and strong buffering capacity, making it suitable for long-duration electrophoresis (over 2 hours). When high resolution is required, TBE improves the resolution of small molecular weight nucleic acids. It is ideal for the electrophoretic analysis of small DNA fragments such as sequencing samples and RNA electrophoresis. It also helps prevent the degradation of PCR products to a certain extent. However, the borate component in TBE can reduce DNA recovery efficiency and interfere with subsequent enzymatic reactions; therefore, TBE is not recommended for DNA fragment recovery.WISENT provides 10× TBE Buffer. Customers may dilute the concentrate according to experimental requirements before use.
