Product Description:HEPES-Buffered Saline, or HBS, is a highly effective buffer for tissue culture as it maintains physiological pH. It also outperforms other Goods buffers in retaining buffer capacity even at low temperatures. HBS has been used as a component in isoelectric focusing gels because it enhances the resolution of phosphoglucomutase. EGTA acts as a chelating agent in these buffers, exhibiting high affinity for calcium ions.
