It is produced from blood collected via cardiac puncture of unborn bovine fetuses, processed by centrifugation and triple 0.1 μm filtration, and subjected to comprehensive quality testing including BVD and a panel of viral assays, mycoplasma screening, endotoxin quantification, cell growth performance evaluation and biochemical analysis. This grade of serum contains essential growth factors for embryonic development and exhibits low immunoglobulin content.This FBS is free of trace levels of tetracycline and its derivatives, which have been shown to interfere with the proper regulation of TRE-controlled gene expression. Use of this serum ensures maximal induction efficiency with Tet-On/Tet-Off systems.
