Product Description:

Gentamicin causes code misreading by binding to 30S ribosomal subunits to block the transfer of peptidyl- tRNA from receptor site to donor site. The bactericidal effect of gentamicin on Pseudomonas depends on binding to the outer membrane of cell membrane, replacing the original cations, making the membrane unstable and forming voids on the cell surface. Antimicrobial spectrum: Gram-negative bacteria, Staphylococcus and other Gram-positive bacteria.

Gentamicin is common in laboratory:

1) microbiology research, commonly used in drug-sensitive experiments to screen sensitive bacteria;

2) Inbits bacterial pollution in cell culture with an effective concentration of 0.5-50 µg/mL;

3) molecular biology studies, commonly used for selective screening of positive clones carrying gentamicin resistance genes, and often with a concentration of 15 µg/mL.
