Product Description:

WISENT IMAX is an advanced complete serum free media designed to grow SF-9 or SF-21 cells. It has been optimized to improve cell growth and provide very high levels of expression. I-Max Plus is also available as an animal free formulation.

Instructions For Use:

Temperature : 27 – 28 deg. Celsius, non humidified , regular atmosphere(do not use CO2). Use T-flask , shake flask or spinner bottle with proper gas exchange.

Seed cells at 4 × 105 viable cells/mL in sterile environment containing pre-warmed IMAX media.

Subculture cells when cell density reaches 2 × 106cells /mL, normally twice a week.

Notes:

Sf-9 and Sf-21 cells are not anchorage dependent. They can grow in monolayer or suspension. Insect cells are sensitive to physical shearing so culture conditions must be carefully established.

Adaptation Of Cells To IMAX Serum-free Media :

It is important that cell viability is 90% and in the mid-logarithmic phase when adapting from serum containing media to IMAX media.

For monolayer cultures simply exchange the culture media with prewarmed (27 deg) IMAX. For suspension cultures centrifuge the cells , aspirate the media and add prewarmed IMAX at a cell density of 5 × 105 cells/mL.

In the rare cases when direct adaptation does not work use sequential adaptation. Culture cells into increasing ratios of IMAX by first using a mixture of 25% IMAX and serum containing media, followed by a mixture of 50%, 75% and 100%.

SHEIF LIFE: Maximum 18 months.

STORAGE TEMPERATURE: STORE AT 2 TO 8℃. Protect from light.
