A serum free media intended for growth of cancer cells and various other cell lines. The SFM290 is a media which is a very rich media containing a complex mix of amino acide salts and additives.

Instructions For Use:

Importace: The cell viability should be over 90% and the cells should be in mid-logarithmic phase of growth at the time of serum free media.

Adaptation Of Cells To SFM290 Serum-free Media :

Direct adaptation:

In most cases it is possible to change the cells directly from the serum containing media to serum free media under normal culture conditions. Use your normal established procedures for seeding and growing.

Note:

However, there are cases where the cells do not adapt successfully after direct transfer and it is necessary to perform gradual adaption. The cells should be seeded according to your established procedures in a mix of serum-free medium SFM 290 ( 1:1, V/V ) and serum containing media. The serum containing media is reduced to 25% after 2 passages and then cells are grown in serum free media. In order to save time, we recommend paralled experiments with direct adaption and with weaning. Normally, after the second transfer, it will be obvious whether direct adaption has been successful, and if not, only the weaning experiments are continued. In some cases supplementation with 1% to 2% FBS is required for continuous culture.

FORM: Liquid, Sterile, Ready to use.

SHEIF LIFE: Maximum 18 months.

STORAGE TEMPERATURE: STORE AT 2 TO 8℃. Protect from light.
