Product Description:

Tris Borate-EDTA Buffer (TBE) is one of the common DNA electrophoresis buffer solutions. It is composed of Tris, Borate and EDTA and is often used in PAGE gel and agarose gel electrophoresis.

TBE buffer has a relatively high ionic strength and a large buffering capacity, making it suitable for longer electrophoresis times (over 2 hours). When high resolution is required, TBE is beneficial for improving the resolution to small-molecular-weight nucleic acids, and is suitable for electrophoresis analysis of small molecule DNA fragments such as sequencing and RNA electrophoresis. To a certain extent, it can also prevent the degradation of PCR amplification products. However, the boric acid component in the TBE buffer can affect the DNA recovery rate and subsequent enzymatic reactions, and is not suitable for recycling DNA fragments.

WISENT offers 10× TBE buffer, customers can dilute it according to their experimental requirements for use.
