It has been used in elution buffers for protein extraction using HiTrap G protein columns.

It is also used for SDS-PAGE( sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis) and the preparation of SDS- samples, electrophoresis buffers and transfer buffer in western blotting.
